Have you heard the “Boodle” way of eating a meal? Well, in the Philippines, it is usually done by putting the food on a banana leaves. This means putting the rice and the dishes of your choice and what makes it exciting is eating your meal by your bare hands, yes, no cutleries.
Seafood Island Restaurant caters this type of dining to their customers. They have a lot of food variety to choose from depending on the number of people to eat, customer’s food preferences and budget. My family and I chose to have the seafood package consisting of Daing na bangus (marinated milkfish), prawns, pork barbecue, bagnet (deep-fried pork), steamed lady’s finger and kangkong, grilled eggplant, green mangoes, dips and seasonings and java rice. By looking at it the moment the food has been served to us I thought it would not be enough for 6 people but I was wrong, it was more than enough and we were too full after eating. The food costs us Php1,200 not including the drinks which was billed separately.
For Filipinos and Malays, most of us used to eat by bare hands at home so surely you’ll enjoy eating your food in this restaurant by hands as well and will make you feel like having your meal at home. But of course, for you guys who still prefer to eat with cutleries, it would still be possible because they will provide these as well.
Indeed, we enjoyed the experience and the food in this restaurant. Try this too guys if you happen to visit the Philippines and be overwhelmed with the unique experience -- I Have Done That!
